Salus is an NHS based provider of Occupational Health, Safety and Return to Work Services across the public and private sectors. It is the largest multidisciplinary service of the NHS and operates as a social enterprise model.
Health problems, of whatever nature, may effect work performance. If you have concerns about the effects of work on an employee’s health, or the effects of a health problem on an employee’s performance or attendance at work, you can make a referral to Salus for Specialist Occupational Health assessment and advice on functional fitness for work.
Salus hearing tests are compliant with the statutory Health Screening requirements as laid down by the HSE or more specifically the Noise at Work Regulations (2005) for those employees exposed to noise at work. Salus staff have the necessary competencies to undertake hearing tests and will advise you on a suitable programme for your employees.
Respiratory Lung Function Surveillance is carried out to comply with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (2002). Salus will conduct lung-function tests and skin surveillance on those identified as requiring this following risk assessment.
Salus is able to provide health surveillance on your behalf where employees have significant exposures to vibration in the workplace. Our screening complies with the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations (2005) and includes a range of assessments from a short questionnaire to assessment by a competent Occupational Health Physician.
Salus will provide confidential pre-placement health screening in line with the Equality Act (2010). We will advise you of the impact of any health issues that may be affected by work (or that may affect their ability to work) and recommend any reasonable adjustments that may need to be put into place.
A healthy workforce is a productive one. Salus will provide you with personalised services and a dedicated account manager to meet the health and wellbeing needs of your workforce.
